
Challenge San Francisco #DSFImmersion
The winter edition of the San Francisco W20 Challenge Immersion Program, a public initiative sponsored by ICEX and Red.es has begun that facilitates the successful development and establishment of spanish companies with new technological creation in Silicon Valley and the USA. The registration period for this event will be open until February 9, 2020.
A over the years, start-ups have created more jobs than large corporations or companies. Startup companies have played an important role in the development of the latest technologies, as they have introduced revolutionary advances such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, robotics and many more. It can be said that today many of the established traditional technology corporations are outsourcing some of their work to innovative startups.
The startups have become a crucial element in our society as they help the development of our nations. That is why it is imprescriptible to build a culture of entrepreneurship so that more startups flourish and continue to contribute to innovation and progress.
As the W20 Defies San Francisco Immersion Program was born, to help Spanish technology companies enter the U.S. market. Following a competitive selection process, in which less than 10% of applicants are accepted, the chosen startups can participate in the program, completing the activities in Silicon Valley. Most activities include: Dynamic Workshops, Tips and Resources, Mentoring, Feedback and Expert Advice, Pitch training and most importantly Networking and Meetings. Participants will also learn about the environment, interact with agents and actors in the innovation ecosystem, and evaluate an entry and expansion plan at the global technology center.
Startups
As a result of participation in the Immersion Program, an average of 75% of companies have U.S. customers and users. Additionally, about 40% have managed to have a corporate presence in the U.S. or even opened an office here.
Candidates wishing to participate must have a product or service of high technological value and an effective business model, as well as be registered in Spain. Initially, the Program is free. Participants are only required to cover travel, accommodation and maintenance expenses during their stay in Madrid and San Francisco. Applications are open until February 9, 2020. Training in Madrid will begin on March 3, 2020 and the transfer to the Silicon Valley Program will begin on March 23 to April 3, 2020.
